Our Mission

Sunscreen is building the privacy engine of the new web. We're bringing private computation to all by making advanced cryptography (i.e. fully homomorphic encryption and zero-knowledge proofs) easy to use.

What you'll accomplish your 1st year here

• You'll help define the engineering vision of our team 🛠
• You'll contribute to the design and building of the core infrastructure of a new cryptographic system (such as working on a compiler and zero-knowledge proof library) 
• You'll become familiar with the latest advances in cryptography (and start contributing yourself!)
• You'll have opportunities to present your work at conferences 👏

You...

• Believe everyone has the right to privacy 🔒
• Think technology should be frictionless (documentation is important to you!)
• Are comfortable with ambiguity and taking on a leadership role in engineering 👩‍💻
• Have significant experience as a backend engineer and/or proficiency in a systems programming language (such as C or Rust)
• May be a bit rusty in linear algebra and discrete math but enjoyed these subjects when you studied them
• Are excited to get your hands dirty learning new math and cryptography (with help of course!) ✍️
• Look forward to collaborating with others
• Are excited to develop and mentor other engineers 🤝
