Welcome to Aleo.
Aleo is building the world's leading developer platform for private applications. With our vocal advocacy for privacy tech in the blockchain ecosystem, we are playing a major part in mainstream awareness and industry adoption of privacy-preserving technologies. We are proud to offer a platform of services that exemplify privacy tech in web applications, increasing digital freedom and access around the world.
To further our mission of offering word-class zero-knowledge platforms and services, Aleo’s core engineering team is looking for a Swiss Army knife to help us handle a number of tasks including but not limited to technical documentation, automation, internal tools, and developer relations. In-line with the nature of an early stage startup, you’ll wear multiple hats which means you’ll also be involved with MarketingOps, Business Development, and general project management. You’ll report to our technical product manager and work cross-organizationally.
What you'll be doing
You’ll spend 80% of your time:
- Working with Aleo’s technical product manager to make sure our developer docs are always up to date and approachable to all audiences.
- Assisting with the launch of new features and product segments by being a part of “Aleo’s voice” via developer relations tasks such as demo videos, discord community Q/As, and conference attendance. You’ll also help with miscellaneous tasks for our marketing and business development teams like technical copy and content for blog posts, our website, and social media campaigns.
- Working with our engineers to address feature requests and bugs surfaced by our community, this means working with our technical product manager to map bugs and feature requests to current engineering pipelines while ranking requests based on their perceived value to the community.
You’ll spend 20% of your time:
- Thinking about how Aleo can be more efficient — this might mean designing applications and process with an automation-first mindset, but could also mean asking questions and sharing what you learn.
- Becoming an expert of Aleo’s products and features with the goal of advocating for them internally and externally, especially as a resource for less technically focused team members/colleagues.
- …and anything else that interests you!
What we look for in you:
- A do-it-all personality with a background in software development best practices or similar.
- The ability to think critically where internal process improvement, organizational effectiveness, and workflow optimizations are concerned; you should have experience or the ability to learn developer tools like GitHub, AWS, K8s, Docker, etc., and also familiarity with no-code tools like Notion, tray.io, coda.io, and Zapier or n8n.io.
- Have previously written or helped to develop technical documentation or copy, ideally for a blockchain or developer tools product.
- A desire to work or can thrive in an ambiguous environment that can sometimes feel disorganized; we offer a great deal of autonomy for all employees and a culture of trust.
- A superpower for bringing order to the spaghettification that is causal in an early-stage startup; a bias towards action and data-centric decision making is ideal.
- A fun personality with a collaborative mindset.
- All Aleo roles are remote, that said, for this role, we’d prefer candidates based in the continental U.S., or the ability to work within the Pacific Time Zone.
Nice to haves:
- Exposure to zero-knowledge proofs and/or blockchain infrastructure and/or the developer tools space.
- Have tried Leo playground and already read our developer docs.
- Ability to and interest in national (U.S.) and sometimes international travel.
Salary & Benefits
- $100K-$140K plus an equity package — determined through the interview process after a review of experience, knowledge, skills, as well as alignment with market data.
- Monthly budget for expenses relating to working in a remote environment (home office set up & supplies, transportation, fitness & personal well-being, continued learning, etc.).
- Comprehensive, top-tier healthcare coverage.
- Flexible vacation policy.
- Ability to attend major industry conferences and global events at the company’s expense.
- Regular team off-sites and retreats.
