About the role

Timewave is looking for a Senior Rust Engineer to help build our distributed program compiler.

Responsibilities

  • Write and deliver highly reusable and well documented rust code
  • Develop and optimize our program toolchain which compiles to zk circuits
  • Implement testing strategies, including by writing unit tests and end-to-end tests
  • Integrate Timewave’s products with our ecosystem partners’ codebases
  • Create and maintain clear documentation
  • Collaborate on product specifications with other members of the product and engineering team
  • Contribute to engineering efforts across Timewave
  • Support our users by helping troubleshoot technical issues

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong fundamentals in cryptography, data structures, algorithms, storage, networking, and blockchains
  • 6+ years of engineering experience in Rust
  • Experience with software development best practices such as agile processes, version control, testing, and CI/CD
  • Strong communication in English
  • Ability to collaborate in a remote-first work environment
  • Passionate about crypto and demonstrated interest in DeFi, digital institutions, zero knowledge, and new economic forms

Bonus

  • Experience with zk risc VMs, arkworks, or related efforts
  • Experience with smart contract development in CosmWasm, EVM, or SVM
  • Open source contributions to blockchain or high-security libraries
  • An interest in distributed systems design patterns, programming language design, compiler optimization
