This startup, based in London, is building a suite of tools designed to empower creative individuals with their own personalized online experience. Technically, the focus is on reducing the barriers to application interoperability by constructing a highly compatible data network for small-scale, AI-powered apps. The vision is to create a next-generation internet that supports an upcoming era of “personal software,” where AI significantly lowers development costs, enabling countless bespoke apps for every use. Our client’s mission is to dismantle the limitations of the current web and replace it with something far more dynamic and user-focused. Dissatisfied with the escalating costs and constraints of platform-centered models, they launched this initiative in 2022. By leveraging cutting-edge developments in peer-to-peer systems, digital signatures, blockchain technology, local-first software design, and innovative cryptographic techniques, they are forging a new path forward with support from respected venture partners and an enthusiastic community of forward-thinkers.
Your Role
Organizationally, the company is built on a simple principle that has fueled historical breakthroughs: assembling a small group of exceptional individuals and giving them the freedom and resources to pursue bold ideas. With a lean team, your role will be hands-on—shipping code, iterating based on user feedback, and contributing to the prototyping of next-generation products and protocols.
This position offers room for growth, potentially evolving into a leading research role, a senior architect position, or even an engineering executive role as the company scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing state-of-the-art cryptographic systems across diverse technological environments,
- Designing and architecting novel protocols,
- Ensuring the secure and efficient development of smart contracts,
- Contributing to frontend development efforts.
Please note that occasional travel is expected to attend key conferences and industry events.
What We’re Looking For

Technical Expertise
Beyond the essential personal traits, the ideal candidate will also have:
- The versatility to work across the entire technology stack—from frontend development to backend databases and distributed systems,
- A solid understanding of applied cryptography, including practical experience with hash functions, encryption methods, and proof systems, underpinned by strong mathematical foundations,
- Extensive experience in designing and deploying distributed systems,
- In-depth knowledge of blockchain infrastructure and related protocols,
- Hands-on expertise in deploying smart contracts on live networks,
- Experience with developing software infrastructure and tooling.
While not mandatory, familiarity with languages such as Rust, Solidity, Go, and JavaScript would be beneficial.
